Department of Plant Protection

The Department of Plant Protection, founded in 1992, offers a B.S. program in “plant protection”, a M.S. program in “Plant pathology”, and a Ph.D. program in “Agricultural Entomology”.

The Master’s program of the Department of Plant Protection started from 1997. Students who participate in this program can study in the following areas:

  • Plant Pathogen Identification including: Fungi, Prokaryotes, Viruses and Nematodes
  • Plant disease diagnosis
  • Non-pathogenic plant disease identification
  • Important plant pest identification
  • Plant disease and pest management and toxicology

Educational areas of specialization in this program are:

  • Plant Pathology: Mycology, Virology, Plant Pathogenic Prokaryotes and Nematology
  • Entomology: Biological Control and Insect Pathology, Ecology and Management, Systematics, and Toxicology branches.

The Doctoral Program at the Department of Plant Protection started admitting Ph.D. candidates in 2007. This program focuses on the following subjects:

  • Plant Pathogen Identification including: Fungi, Prokaryotes, Viruses and Nematodes
  • Plant disease diagnosis
  • Non-pathogenic plant disease identification
  • Important plant pest identification
  • Plant disease and pest management and toxicology

Educational areas of specialization are:

  • Plant Pathology: Mycology, Virology, Plant Pathogenic Prokaryotes and Nematology
